IMPORTANT NOTICE - LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR HEAT SHIELD PROBLEM

IMPORTANT NOTICE

When installing the Supersprint R&L catalytic converter, make sure that the new original heat shield (right side only) is already installed on the car.

This heat shield is available on all Aventador models, starting from 2014 onwards.

On previous models this was not used.

Unfortunately there is still no information on which VIN cars are not equipped with a shield, possibly with insufficient protection against heat build-up in the exhaust.

As we have learned that no official recall has been issued by the Factory yet, it is mandatory to check with your Lamborghini dealer first.

The absence of this shield can cause minor damage to the rubber lines, which run in the upper area of the manifold/manifolds-catalytic junction (right side only).

Under extreme driving conditions, this type of damage can occur with the stock catalytic converter, as well as with the Supersprint catalytic converter fitted, even though the Supersprint HJS metal catalytic converters provide much lower heat retention, in the critical area around the exhaust system, inside the engine bay.

Once the additional shield is installed, adequate protection against any damage is ensured.

Replacement catalytic converter systems (front and/or manifolds) for car models with OBD II emission control system.

Supersprint informs that these systems are to be used exclusively for racing purposes and that their use, if not accompanied by appropriate modifications to the engine's electronic management system, could cause malfunctions. All modifications must be carried out exclusively by qualified personnel, under the responsibility of the car owner and with costs entirely at his expense.

These products, like all racing systems, are covered by the Supersprint warranty limited to the quality of the materials and the correct assembly of the components on the car models for which they are intended.
