    The 2010-2011 limited edition Ferrari 599 GTO, with its 6.0-litre V12 engine and 670bhp, is certainly a unique car; one of the most complete and track-ready cars ever built in Maranello.

    However, it is not perfect, as sold by the Factory.

    Despite claiming at the time of the launch to be equipped with a genuine Race exhaust, when it comes to the headers, the exact opposite is true.

    The stock 6 into 1 tubular header system is severely compromised by the restrictive design of the integrated catalytic converters.

    The Supersprint long-tube Competition headers and exhaust system are the perfect solution to this, proving to be a great performance complement.

    Its free-flow design ensures a significant decrease in exhaust gas back pressure, totally eliminating the restrictions imposed by the primary/main catalytic converters, which are nestled in the tight confines of the engine bay.

    A compromised design in the standard. exhaust system, which has the sole purpose of complying with the stringent Euro and California emissions standards.

    The Supersprint header system features a 3 into 1 design, with twin sections and twin long-tube downpipes, with the branches mirroring each other on opposite banks.

    This header layout allows for a relocation of the R&L catalytic converters, effectively moving them to their ideal and natural position under the chassis of the car, further away from the engine.

    This results in significant performance gains, while at the same time allowing for a massive reduction in heat absorption and thermal stress on the engine.

    The Supersprint centre exhaust section and lightweight R&L rear silencers complete the package, ensuring a monumental V12 sound.

    With the full Supersprint exhaust installed, the 599 GTO becomes a legitimate contender to Ferrari's 730 bhp 599XX.
