Important project aimed at a model destined to become a classic, whose standard exhaust has some serious anomalies never resolved by the company, such as the recurring problem of broken manifolds, and others. Rear muffler with insulated double-wall silencer casing, curved internal perforated pipes and resonance chamber. Specific manifolds with independent pipes, connected by a 4-1 conveyor using the patented Supersprint "floating flange-trochoidal gaskets-tension springs" system. This exclusive system allows the free expansion of the individual pipes, cancelling the tensions generated and eliminating any source of potential breakage. Furthermore, new screens have been designed to protect against excessive temperatures, applied only where necessary, i.e. in correspondence with the parts actually stressed. The standard manifolds, on the contrary, are completely wrapped in an insulating shell each, which on the one hand effectively protects the surrounding parts, on the other hand unnecessarily increases the thermal load on the exhaust pipes, presumably becoming the cause of such frequent breakages. The specific metal catalysts have been developed to optimize performance and eliminate the complex and counterproductive (in terms of efficiency) system of multiple standard catalysts, regulated by a by-pass valve, a system abandoned by the company itself on subsequent models (e.g. Ferrari 360). The combined effect of the 3 exhaust components developed by Supersprint, rear muffler + catalytic converters + manifolds, offers a significant increase in performance at all rpm and at the same time increased reliability and durability.
