These downpipes include lightweight test pipes to replace the heavy OEM catalytic converters. Using test pipes removes the flow restriction that a catalytic converter places on an exhaust system, while increasing horsepower.
The silencing effect of the converters is also eliminated, enhancing the aggressive sound of the engine. The test tubes are ideal for track days and racing applications.
On applicable models, the center section is made flexible as an additional protective feature against damage from vibrations to the manifold pipes and the Lambda or oxygen sensor caps are pre-installed and threaded.
Made of T309 (1.4828) stainless steel.
IMPORTANT:
The tubes can activate a CEL (Check Engine Light).
Replacing the OEM catalytic converter may activate a Check Engine Light (CEL).
To disable a recurring CEL you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.
