The complete high-performance CAPRISTO Mucielago LP640 system aims to be a balanced increase between power, driveability and sound quality, without obviously forgetting a substantial weight loss. All of this is delivered while maintaining the CAPRISTO philosophy, the best of both worlds, which offers the ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving.

This feature is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation the valves are closed and produce a deeper exhaust note. With the throttle fully open, the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine.

The exhaust valves are controlled by back pressure and via the included Valve Controller Remote which allows to control the permanent opening of the flaps, without the serial control being able to intervene. When the exhaust valve system is closed again with the use of the remote control, the series control unit will resume control of the exhaust valves again. This allows for precise exhaust control based on the driver's personal taste and tolerance.

CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping and CNC bending/milling in our factory in Germany. Each system is made of high quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance, low weight and durability properties which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).

PERFORMANCE MANIFOLDS:

The headers use a 6-3-1 design and the pipe routing has been significantly modified compared to the stock headers to maximize exhaust flow.

250 CELL SPORT CATS:

High performance sport catalytic converters feature a 250 cell per square inch substrate made from the highest quality materials currently available , designed to improve airflow for your vehicle and increase performance.

The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and it is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The fewer holes the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch, a larger hole subsequently lets more exhaust flow.

All this high flow won't be It helps if the substrate is "squeezed" into a small diameter container or tube. For this reason, CAPRISTO sport cats are packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and operation of the valved exhaust system.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter may activate a Check Engine Light (CEL).

To disable a recurring CEL you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.
