Capristo Ferrari F430 stainless steel exhaust manifolds with thermal blankets
These high performance heat blanket manifolds made from 1.4828 (T309 (1.4828)) grade stainless steel were designed for the Ferrari F430 Coupé/Spider and Challenge.
***The factory F430 exhaust mounting bracket has a critical design flaw. The solid attachment to the vehicle chassis does not allow for any thermal expansion. The lack of expansion causes stress to be pushed back towards the engine and results in cracked cylinder heads or catalytic converters. Capristo offers an updated mounting bracket that is a critical element for preventative maintenance. The Capristo design uses four spring-mounted suspension points to allow for this heat expansion (up to 1.5 inches). If the exhaust components have already failed DO NOT replace them without also replacing the mounting bracket with Capristo Design as it will fail again. Both Capristo F430 exhaust systems (valve and free flow) include this mounting bracket.***
The 4-2-1 design of these headers maximizes torque and horsepower in the mid range of the car. 'power envelope, right where the driver needs it. The curves and connection points have a constant radius design that maximizes exhaust gas flow. These cylinder heads are built as light and strong as possible.
These high-performance cylinder heads bring a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque. Since they are compatible with the original catalytic converters, the manifolds can also be used as an economical replacement for defective OEM manifolds.
The cylinder heads come standard with the new innovative CAPRISTO heat shield . Heat shields are made of an extremely heat-resistant material, initially developed and used by NASA. This helps reduce radiant heat from exhaust manifolds and sports catalysts. The shields are heat resistant for temperatures up to 1300 degrees Celsius.
Reduced heat or temperature in the engine compartment improves performance. Cooler air boxes result in a cooler air temperature for the engine to "breathe in". In turn, denser air produces more power.
Because the exterior of the hot, glaring exhaust is protected from the surrounding environment, the screens also reduce the possibility of fire which sometimes results from contact of liquids/oil with the exhaust system.
The heat shields can also be attached to the cylinder heads at a later time without dismantling them.
Headers CANNOT be installed and used WITHOUT these heat shields.
If you wish to retain the original OEM exhaust (muffler), it is It is necessary to replace the exhaust supports and brackets with the CAPRISTO mounting kit.
NOTE TO THE INSTALLER:
It is important to note that these cylinder heads should not be torqued to more than 24 Nm or 17.5 ft-lbs.
Overtightening will cause stud failure and/or damage to the head.
